Ebay Users Protest amiibo Price Gouging By Doing Just That

Well Christmas has come and gone but I and many others are still burning up with amiibo fever. The collectible figurines which launched in November of 2014 have proven to be more than a fad stealing 36% of NFC figure market share from Disney and Activision. With their massive popularity however has come some of the worst price gouging in recent memory. Pre-orders for thrid wave figures in particualr "Rosalina & Luma" and "Lucario" are into the hundreds of dollars. It could be debated what is causing this: hype, small production runs, bad deployment the reasons are innumerable. One thing is for certain though fans are not happy. So to combat this or at the very least point attention at and mock it, many Ebay user have started to list amiibo with horribly infalted prices for the most common of amiibo. Another phenomena is listing for "Invisible amiibo" which are once again horribly inflated and have the secondary attribute of not actually featuring the supposed amiibo sporting a description that ussualy says something to the tune of "It's your own fault if you bid on this". Overall I think this is a great way to have some fun while also making a point on this issue. Someone, whether that's Nintendo or retailers need to find better ways to get amiibo more accessible to everyone cheaper.
